Nearly all of them require the use of Festival Coins, but some, like Lottery Shops, let you use them once a day for free.
There are many Facilities obtainable in your Festival Plaza that serve a huge variety of different purposes. The man on the far right will rearrange your Facilities for you, and the woman on the far left will summon particular Guests to the castle for you so you don't have to go looking for them! Inside the castle, the woman on the right next to the PC will give you Festival Tickets and allow you to host or join Missions once you reach Festival Plaza rank 4. A VIP will always appear at the front of the castle in the Festival Plaza, making them easy to find! (Note: Many of the "guests" you'll see will be "NPCs.") You can register friends and guests as a VIP. The yellow icon will bring up your Guest List of trainers visiting your Festival Plaza. There are a ton of different options to choose from, and more phrases can be obtained through Fortune Teller Tents. You can see your Festival Plaza profile and change your set greetings and responses by tapping the purple icon on the touch screen when inside the Festival Plaza. He'll also be the one to gift you items, Festival Coins, upgrades, and Festival Tickets every time your Festival Plaza ranks up. Trial Captain Sophocles will give you a short tutorial the first time you open Festival Plaza. Scanning a QR code pattern unlocked by another player registers this Pokemon in your Pokedex and shows its location in the game.Note: If you're just looking to battle or trade with a friend in the same room, use Quick Link instead! Players will unlock QR code patterns of Pokemon they catch, allowing them to share these QR codes with others. If you scan 10 QR Codes, you'll be able to use an Island Scan that will locate a Pokemon on the island you're on that is not a part of the Alolan Pokedex. All of these codes also work for Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon, but we have yet to acquire QR codes for the new Pokemon in Pokemon Ultra's Regional Pokedex.
